eCommera is a relatively low-profile brand in a competitive market where finding and retaining the right talent is tough. The firm was finding it hard to attract senior individuals with the right skills and mindset. Recruitment costs were too high, few A-grade staff were joining and attrition was a growing concern.
First, we analysed eCommera’s current recruitment process and partnerships. We found an inconsistent approach, a lack of support for line managers who needed to hire and the wrong type of providers being used at a senior level. eCommera had approached us for our knowledge of the technology/software/SaaS marketplace and our understanding of the executive search process. We repaid that trust straight away by recruiting a Head of Delivery and a Head of Product Marketing. Based on these successes, eCommera asked us to be their sole executive search partner right up to main board level. Throughout 2013 we successfully delivered a number of leadership and senior sales search assignments across the sales, pre-sales, client services and product.
With significant Series C funding now secured, further hiring is the top priority as eCommera scales up its US and European operations and looks to improve the calibre of its team. We look forward to playing a continuing role in this success story.
